Building Literacy Across the FLES Curriculum

How do teachers and programs encourage students to build literacy in another language? This presentation provides answers by sharing four strategies one school has implemented to strengthen student literacy in both their first and second languages. The presentation shares information about the importance of environmental and functional print, the most relevant comprehension strategies for early language learners, and the role read-alouds play in literacy development.
